1) Do I have to travel on the week I purchased?

No. The River View is a Floating Week Resort. The week you are assigned will be the color you purchased (Red, White, or Blue) but you may travel on any week that you are able to trade for (since on occasion white or blue owners are able to trade for red space elsewhere). You can travel for up to 2 years from the date of the week you banked with RCI.

2) When are maintenance fees due and are there any late charges?

Maintenance fees are billed in September and are due November 1st of each year. Late fees accrue daily and any unpaid fees are sent to collections where late fees continue to accrue and an additional 40% collection fee is assessed.

3) Can I bring guests to use the resort?

Owners are encouraged to use the resort and to bring guests. However there are limitations in space and availability. Owners include immediate family only. This means that parents and children living at home are considered owners. All others are guests. Owners are allowed to bring two guests and each guest is charged $5.00 per visit. We urge our owners to call before using the pool since there are days when the usage is so high they may not want to come.

4) I tried to bank my week with RCI and they told me I couldn't. What gives?

In order to bank a week (Remember that the River View will bank your week for you upon request) all your fees must be current, both with the Resort and with RCI. Either your maintenance fee is not paid or your membership with RCI is not current for the period in which you are trying to bank a week.

5) Are my property taxes and mortgage deductible from my income tax?

Property taxes are deductible and in many cases so is the interest from your mortgage. Speak to your accountant regarding whether you can take this deduction.

6) How does the discount policy work if I want to rent a room at the Resort?

If you call within 7 days of your stay you will receive a 50% discount on the going rate. If you call outside 7 days prior to your stay you will receive a 25% discount on the going rate. Base upon availability. EXCEPTION: These discounted rates are for units owned by the resort and do not apply to Christmas/New Year or February School Vacation.

7) I'm having trouble getting a trade. Are there any pointers I should know?

Be as flexible as possible. If you can give RCI a broad time frame and several resorts in the area you are much more likely to get a trade than if you have a specific week and a specific resort that you insist on traveling to.

8) Can I get credit for referring people to the River View?

You certainly can. The River View pays $75.00 for every qualified tour that you refer here and you receive a free years maintenance fee for every 2 referrals that purchase at the resort. Simply write or email us with the name and phone number of your referrals and we'll do the rest.
